Exclusive luxury has a place
Publication: The Sunday TimesDate: August 13, 2009

Brian Jackman is probably the most experienced Africa-phile in travel journalism. More used to canvas tents and bucket showers he can still see the charm of retreating to the luxury of Botswana's new breed of luxury camp. And they don't come much more luxurious and stylish than Zarafa.
But for the wildlife enthusiast who can afford the very best, the game-viewing benefits are as special as the camp facilities. A private reserve of 300,000 hectares of pristine wilderness and some of the best leopard and wild dog sightings in Southern Africa, the area also boasts a pride of lion who have specialised in hippo as their chosen prey.
You could buy a whole week elsewhere in Africa for the price of three nights at Zarafa but (wildlife apart) the views alone are worth the money.
