Sara Evans travelled to Marrakech with cazenove+loyd and took an early morning photographic tour of Djemma el-Fna square - getting up before dawn to capture images of the square waking up and coming to life.
Her guide was a British photographer who has lived in Morocco since 1993, his knowledge of the square's hidden alleyways and secret courtyards gave Sara an insight into areas and local life normally missed by the crowds. He advised her on how best to capture the first light in her photographs, whilst guiding her through twisty, narrow side streets and dark alleyways of the souks to the workshop area where many of the goods sold in the souk are crafted by carpenters, weavers, blacksmiths, glassblowers and other artisans.
