Tuc tucs,crocs and temples

When we set off to Sri Lanka this Christmas I really didn't know what to expect but it turned out to be an amazing experience.
We were met by our driver Urvin who was awesome - he was always smiling and fun, answering our endless questions while negotiating endless dogs, pot holes, tuctuc's and the odd monsoon like someone straight from Top Gear- an incredible driver!
We stayed at a villa which is all built on water and even has two resident crocodiles (luckily well fed ones, I think). We had a couple of incredible monsoons - my first experience of warm rain- and went on the funniest elephant ride which despite several umbrellas was like being in a power shower!
We visited Dambulla and Sigiriya- amazing views and lots of temples - I took this picture of the monk looking like he's on top of the world.
