There are privileged moments in life, where you stop and feel incredibly blessed to be exactly where you are. Privileged due to an accident of birth as you wander throughout a third world country.
Privileged to meet people who offer insights into their lives over an organised afternoon meeting. Privileged to have trusted your trip to someone who listened so carefully to your needs they designed an experience that exceeds expectations.
I had asked myself how can a trip that starts in Angkor Wat get any better? What did I know? It started with a place filled with culture, majesty and timelessness. The next act was about people. I moved away from the concrete stone of the temples to the wonder of the human spirit. a tiny town in Laos that personified Buddhism and an ancient way of life. The final act was peace. I found myself on the water's edge in a fantastic hotel where every need was catered to and my only imperative was to quietly meditate on the preceeding two weeks before returning to my world.
As I sat in the tropical rain seeing a rainbow appear, I felt I truly had discovered the pot of gold.
