Lions in Duba Plains

Driving around in pursuit of the wildlife was amazing as you are never sure what you are going to see next. However, suddenly turning a corner and observing eight lions feasting on a buffalo kill, from only a few hours previous, was something I never expected to see. The way in which they eat their prey and their behavioural manner is fascinating to watch, complimented by the ever changing dramatic African light.
We stayed out there watching for at least an hour and a half - there is so much to learn about these wonderful animals. Duba Plains is definitely the place to see lions as the pride there is big and the guides know exactly where to find them. The guides really make the experience, with extensive characterful knowledge of each animal and history amongst the pride. It was the closest I have ever come to such magnificent, fearsome creatures and the rush was incredible.
