A wonderful insight

About a week into our trip we had a home dinner with a Vietnamese family. The family were very gracious and the food was excellent. We ate with the son of the family and his wife and after this experience we were left with a good understanding of family life in a small Vietnamese city and the hopes and aspirations of the couple, both for themselves and for their children. What a wonderful insight.
The following day, we had a tour of the Imperial City with our guide Mr An. To say the least this was quite an experience and Mr An is a real character. When he started his tour, we weren't sure what we had let ourselves in for – but he soon grew on us as we realised that he is a charming, walking encyclopaedia. We came away after a few hours with him much more enlightened about the history and culture of Vietnam and Hue.
Following our tour of the Imperial City, our driver Huan took us to the local market where we had a short tour before our first, breathtaking experience of crossing a Vietnamese street – all lots of fun.
