We initially thought about going on safari in Africa but wanted to discover a bit of the world which we did not know at all. Laura suggested Kerala as being India Lite.......you don’t want to work too hard on honeymoon and Kerala was the perfect introduction to India.
The Maldives is a bit of a minefield. There is so much choice and Laura guided us through it. Cocoa Island was perfect. There were families and not just honeymooners and that was really important. We’d have hated a honeymoon only destination. And, again, a week at the end was absolutely the right amount of time to relax after a fair amount of moving around in India.
Everywhere we stayed just seemed to be for the right amount of time. We enjoyed every moment but felt ready to move on to a new place. That meant really understanding what we were looking for and what we were about.
The guides throughout were fantastic, they really looked after us well...........we hadn’t planned to go to cities but flight connections meant that we had to go through Mumbai. Our lovely guide, organised by Laura ,took us to the church where my grandparents were married.
